MeetVox Card
Privacy Policy
Last updated 8 October 2026 · Applies to MeetVox Card for iPhone
The short version. MeetVox Card has no account, no sign-up and no servers of ours. Your cards and the contacts you scan are stored on your iPhone and backed up to your own iCloud, which we cannot read. There is no analytics service, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
The one exception is the optional team feature. If you choose to share your card's design with your team, or join a team, a small amount of team information is stored in a shared area of iCloud that we can see. That is described in full below.
Who we are
MeetVox Card is an iPhone app published by Antoine Debroye. If you have a question about this policy or about your data, email support@meetvox.ai.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything you create in the app is written to your device's own storage:
- Your cards — name, pronouns, job title, company, email address, phone number, website, LinkedIn and other links, postal address, a short bio, and any profile photo, company logo or banner you add.
- Contacts you capture — the details read from a QR code, a paper business card or an event badge, plus any notes, tags, "met at" note and photo attached to them.
- Usage counters — simple tallies such as how many times you tapped Share. These are shown to you inside the app and are never transmitted anywhere. They are not analytics; nobody but you ever sees them.
Your iCloud backup
So your cards and contacts survive reinstalling the app and appear on your other devices, they are copied to the private database of your own iCloud account.
We cannot read any of this. A private iCloud database belongs to you. Apple does not give app developers access to it, and we have no way to view, export or recover its contents. If you lose access to your Apple Account, we cannot help retrieve your data.
If you are not signed in to iCloud the app still works fully. It keeps everything locally and tells you plainly in Settings that nothing is backed up.
Team features, and what we can see
Teams are entirely optional. Most people will never use them. A team is one person's card design, shared with colleagues: everyone gets the same look, logo and company name, and adds their own details. If you use it, the following is written to a shared area of iCloud rather than your private one:
| When you… | What is stored |
|---|---|
| Share a card's design with your team | The company name, the card's style and colours, its logo and banner if it has them, and, only if you choose to give everyone the same ones, the company website and office address. Your name as the team sees it. A random identifier for the team. Never your email, phone number, job title, LinkedIn, links, photo or headline: those stay on your iPhone. |
| Make an invite link | A one-way fingerprint of the link, so the app can recognise it. The link itself is never stored in iCloud. |
| Join a team | Your name as you type it, a one-way fingerprint showing you had the link, and the time you joined. Your card's other details stay on your iPhone. |
| Run a team | Each change an owner makes (a new version of the design, making someone an owner, handing the team over, removing someone, cancelling an invite, stopping the team) as a record of what changed. |
Every record also carries the time it was made and an identifier for the iCloud account that made it. Both are set by Apple. The identifier is generated by Apple and is specific to this app. It is not your Apple Account, your email address or your device.
Be aware of two things. First, everyone in a team can read the team's records, including the names of the people in it, and so can anyone holding one of its invite links, even a used one: that is how an invite shows the design before you join. Choose the name you use accordingly.
Second, because this is a shared area rather than your private one, we can see it through Apple's administrative console. We do not use it for anything other than running the feature and fixing faults.
Reading team data requires being signed in to iCloud. It is not open to the public internet.
Design updates. While you are in a team, the app asks iCloud to let it know when the team changes, so your card can follow a new design without you opening the app. These notifications are silent, are delivered by Apple's push service, and say only that something changed.
Invite links. Invite links point to www.meetvox.ai, the MeetVox website. If MeetVox Card isn't installed, the link opens a page there instead. The part of the link that identifies the invite comes after the #, which browsers never send to a website, so the site never receives it. That page sets no cookies and runs no analytics; like any web host, the site's host may log the address a request came from.
What we never collect
- No account, no username, no password. There is nothing to sign up for.
- No analytics, product telemetry or crash reporting service.
- No advertising, no advertising identifiers, no profiling.
- No location data.
- No analytics, advertising or social-network code of any kind. The app does link four open-source libraries — Apple’s swift-crypto, swift-certificates and swift-asn1, plus ZIPFoundation — used solely to build and sign an Apple Wallet pass on your device. None of them make network connections or collect anything.
- No payment details. The app does sell one thing — see below — but Apple handles the payment and never passes us a card number, a billing address or a name.
The app talks to Apple's iCloud and, if you open the Pro screen, to the App Store. Nothing else. There is no server of ours for it to talk to.
Paying for Pro
Most of the app is free and stays that way. A one-time purchase called MeetVox Card Pro unlocks extra cards, two more designs, custom brand colours, Apple Wallet passes and the team features.
We never see your payment details. The purchase is an ordinary Apple in-app purchase, handled entirely by the App Store using the payment method already on your Apple Account. No card number, billing address or name reaches us, and there is nothing for us to store.
What Apple tells the app is a single fact: whether this Apple Account has bought Pro. That answer is checked on your device, which is why buying it needs no account with us and no server of ours. It follows your Apple Account, so it comes back if you change phone or reinstall.
Apple, as the seller, keeps its own record of the transaction under Apple's privacy policy. Refunds are handled by Apple too. We can see anonymous sales totals in App Store Connect, but never who bought.
Permissions the app asks for
| Permission | Why, and what happens |
|---|---|
| Camera | To scan QR codes, business cards and event badges. Recognition happens on your device. Images are not uploaded. |
| Photos (choose) | Only to pick a profile photo, logo or banner, or to read a card image you select. This uses Apple’s picker, which runs outside the app, so iOS does not ask for a permission and the app is handed only the image you chose. |
| Photos (add) | Only to save your QR code when you ask for it. |
| Contacts | To save a scanned person to your address book, and to let you fill your own card from a contact you pick. The app reads only the contact you choose; it never browses your address book. |
| NFC | Declared so a card could be shared by holding an iPhone to a tag or reader. It is switched off in the current release, so iOS will not ask for it and no tag is ever read. |
Every permission is optional. Decline any of them and the rest of the app continues to work.
Sharing your card
When you share a card by QR code, AirDrop, Message, email or Apple Wallet, the details travel directly from your device to the recipient. Nothing passes through us.
Apple Wallet passes are built and cryptographically signed on your iPhone. No server is involved in creating them.
The app also publishes a Shortcuts action that exports your saved contacts as a CSV file, so you can automate getting them into a spreadsheet or a CRM. It runs on your device and only when a shortcut you built asks it to, but a shortcut can pass that file to another app, so treat it as you would any other export.
Once you have handed your details to someone, what they do with them is outside our control and outside this policy.
Deleting your data
On your iPhone. Settings → Delete all data immediately removes every card, every saved contact, every template you designed, your usage counters, and the copy of your team held on the device, including any invite links it made. Deleting the app removes its local storage as well.
In your iCloud. The same button deletes the iCloud copies of your cards and contacts. If your iPhone is offline or signed out at the time, that deletion stays queued and completes the next time the app syncs successfully.
Export your contacts to CSV first if you want to keep them, because none of this can be undone.
Team records work differently. Delete all data does not take you out of a team; leave it first, from the Team tab. Leaving a team deletes your name from its records. If you are removed, or the team stops, the app deletes it the next time it opens on your iPhone. When an owner stops sharing, the app also deletes the design, logo and membership records that each person's iPhone put there, again the next time it opens on that iPhone, leaving only the bare outline of the team: the random identifiers, invite fingerprints and the record of changes, with no names, logo or company details. While a team is running, the records of changes you made stay part of its history, because the team can't be worked out without them. To have any team record removed, email support@meetvox.ai and we will delete it for you.
How long data is kept
Data on your device and in your private iCloud is kept until you delete it. Team records in the shared area are kept while the team runs, and are deleted as described above when you leave or the team stops; what remains is kept until you ask us to remove it, or until the container is reset.
Children
MeetVox Card is a tool for exchanging professional contact details. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or erase personal data held about you, and to complain to a data protection regulator.
In practice, almost all of your data is already in your own hands: it is on your device and in your own iCloud, and the app can export your contacts to a CSV file at any time. For team records, which are the only data we can access, email us and we will provide or delete them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and describe the change here. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
8 October 2026: teams were rebuilt. Short team codes are replaced by one-time invite links, a team's design comes from one person's card with none of their own details, a team can have several owners, design updates arrive through silent iCloud notifications, and names are deleted from a team's records when someone leaves.
7 October 2026: a published team now also includes its card design (style and colours) and, if the team owner adds one, an office address that appears on every member’s card.
